Dye ink printing vs pigment ink printing

So it is well documented that using dye ink on your prints you will see fading. You will also see fading using pigment inks but not to the same extent when compared to dye inks.

So here is my question:

When using a dye ink printer and you take that print and laminate and mount it on a medium; will you see the same amount of fading as if you did NOT laminate it?

"IF" the answer is no... will that laminated print stand the test of time in regards to fading and look just as good as a print that is printed using pigment ink?

Thank you in advance for your responses.

Rick

p.s. Has there been any testing on dye ink prints fading when laminated or sprayed?
