I was looking around and was not able to find such a converter, did I miss anything. I am looking to buy the 100-400 DN L mount lens so I can have some future proofing and still be able to use it on my older sigma bodies. Am I out of luck?

Thanks for the input.

I'm sure some smart adapter company will make one. It shouldn't be all that difficult, though the optics will probably degrade the image quality a little bit.

You're "sure". Why?

Have you seen the amazing variety of adapters out there? There seems to be some new adapter available every day. These people are amazing, and keep coming up with new products that I've never seen or even thought of before. THAT's why.

Where's your evidence that it's possible?

Evidence? Isn't every adapter evidence that one can use an adapter to adapt a lebs with one mount to a camera with another mount?

Here's an example of an adapter with lenses in it, which allows a lens designed for a short flange distance to work with a camera that has a longer flange distance:

It's not, BTW.

Why not?

Put a mount on an adapter with a couple of lenses in it, and use the exact same wiring and contacts the MC21 has in it, but it would be arranged the opposite direction, so the SA mount camera could actually auto-focus, using the L mount lens.

WONDERFUL! Right?

If I seem to be missing something, please let me know what I don't seem to understand.

Have you used any of those lens adapters with glass in ?

The results are well below the image quality we expect from Sigma.

There's no point in buying a special camera that gives very high resolution, and then inserting poor quality optics between the lens and the camera.
