Panning a still of the wrong aspect ratio in DaVinci Resolve

This should be simple (I say while bracing myself).

Let’s say I’m editing a DCI 4K video and want to throw in an iPhone photo. Worse, the iPhone (not mine) was gratuitously held vertically.

I’ve futzed around with Dynamic Zoom and watched probably half an hour’s worth of YouTube tutorials on that tool by now, but, incredibly, none of the YouTubers thought to mention the possibility of panning and zooming source material of the wrong aspect ratio.

So when I try to use that tool, it either requires unreasonable manual precision or I end up with black bars or chunks of missing photo.

Is there an elegant way to simply pan down a vertical 4:3 photo, showing its full width (and not a pixel more), starting at the top (and not a pixel more) and ending at the bottom (you know the drill)?

Thanks.
