The R7 and R5 are better cameras for wildlife than the R6 - the R7 will get you the most "pixels on duck", while the R5 is a "workhorse" for wildlife. R6 is better for portrait work, etc because it has lower noise, etc than the R7/R5. I am betting that (for wildlife) the R7 will be a huge upgrade vs the 80D or the M series camera.

I have used the 90D and R5 cameras, along with the EF 100-400 mk II lens on both cameras. The R5 or R7 paired with that lens is a good wildlife kit. There are probably only 2 combos better than that kit (for wildlife) and that is to upgrade to the RF 100-500 (marginally better kit), and then past that is to spend big $$$ and upgrade to the EF/RF 500 or 600 F4 lens (again, marginally better than the RF 100-500). Point is, with a R5 or R7 plus 100-400 (and teleconverters), any upgrades past that you have to spend big $$$ for incremental gains. I have first hand experience with this - my upgrade path in the last year was a 90D with 100-400 mk ii and sigma sport 150-600 to a R5 with the 100-400 mk ii as my walk around lens, and a EF 500 F4 mk ii as my "stationary" lens. in the last year my wifes upgrade path was a 90D with a EF 100-400 mk ii and a tamron 150-600 G2 to a R5 and only using the RF100-500 (with teleconveters).
