I had a similar experience with a M6 converted to infrared. Lifepixel did the conversion, which also disables the sensor clean capability. Lifepixel forgot to tell me not to re-enable the sensor clean option in settings. After receiving the converted camera, I reviewed the settings and ignorantly turned the sensor clean option back on.

I contacted Lifepixel and after some discussion they told me to try turning the camera on and immediately hit the menu button. They also said it may require repeating the process several (or numerous) times to get the menu to display. Once displayed, turn the sensor clean option back off. In my case it took about a dozen tries to get the menu to display.

I know this is not the identical situation, but it might be worth a try!

Thank you very much for that trick. I will try it also.

In my case I just choose option clean sensor now.

Incredible how such reputable camera maker does not check all the settings before launching product.

Disappointment is a under statement.

Camera was new since I did it keep it stored years.

I bought it first hand and it worked fine for months.

Further disappointment is that they do not repair camera and to acess service customer in the us one has to transfer to them 1 buck. One has to provide credit card number, or PayPal wich I do not have.

Probably because fixing it costs more than just sending a new one, which from environmental point of view literally sucks.

My oldest in active usage camera is my M6 mk I, it is from 2017.

My M3 from 2015 is in little less active usage but it gets used from now and then and I try to keep them with fully charged battery at all times.
