Slow meteor or what?
4

Hi!

I was chasing meteors on 18-19 November when I got this 'thing' on 2 consecutive frames. Due to it's slow speed and white color my first thought was of a satellite, but I'm not so sure any more. A slow earth grazer?

On a second inspection I can see a smoke train on the images 3 and 4 (very faint). Based on the 2 sec gap between both images which corresponds to the gap in the bright white trail between images 2 and 3, the velocity must have been pretty slow. No visual observation of this meteor.

Technical details:

Canon R with Sigma A 14/1.4 (used f/2.5 for quality reasons), 8 sec exposure and 2 sec delay between the frames. The view is to the North ( N is on the right side of the crop) and the images were taken in numerical order from1 to 4 at 03:00 am (UTC) on Saturday (19th) morning. This is a crop.
