bought my first DLSR: Disappointed

So for an upcoming project in which the camera will end up in contact with sea water and sand, I picked the cheapest ILC camera available: a DSLR

I still expect high image quality out of this cheap DSLR, because it has the newest 24 mp apsc sensor. So I will finally get to experience the legendary Canon colour science.

But I'm surprised at how unusable it is. I had higher expectations since people keep praising the DSLR's ergonomics of cameras such as the 7DII, D850.

Such a big mode dial, and not a single custom mode to be found !!

despite the chunkiness of the camera, the grip is not that deep or comfortable

Propriety Canon connections, which requires an expensive canon cable for file transfer. Not budget friendly.

EF lenses are really good though
