External hard-drive or something else?

I went to the Casper Christmas Parade last night and took about 800 photos (gotta love continuous mode with continuous AF - lol).

I took them off my SD card and put them on my 128GB SSD I have in my computer.

Something I ran into is just how obscenely slow the review process was.  I would have three windows open, one with the folder for keepers, the folder that had all the photos I took off, and my Windows Photo viewer.

It would consistently take 5-10 seconds to cycle between photos and sometimes I'd get 40 or 50 photos reviewed and the viewer would jump back.  This process is ridiculously inefficient and laborious.

Is my issue the transfer speed of the SSD I have in my computer?  I have 32GB RAM.

Also - do they make an external HDD with an SD card slot that just automatically uploads all the photos from the SD card without having to use a computer?  Be nice to just pop it in and let it dump the photos and review them later.
