Enhancing old photos in Lightroom

Today I did a little experiment: Using Lightroom to "enhance" (upscale) an old 3008 x 2008 pixels photo taken with a 6mp *ist DS—just to see what would happen. The result was a 6016x4016 pixels photo, nearly the same size as my 6000x4000 pixels 24 mp K-3 gives. Not too shabby, eh? Especially when one considers the shot was taken with the original 18-55 kit lens. It was captured one summer sundown in front of our cabin on Lake Superior back in 2007.
Now I think I'll get that *ist DS out of mothballs and start using it again, especially with the supersharp 300mm f4.5 Pentax-F I acquired for birding with a K-5. The DS's small size would make it appealing as a backup traveling camera, even with that 18-55.

Pentax H1a, H3v, Spotmatic, MX, ME Super (2), KX, *ist DS, K10D, K20D, K-5, K-01, K-3; Sony A7Riii, Sony A7c.

Chris and Jordan are enjoying some well deserved time off this week, so we're taking a trip in the wayback machine to revisit the launch of Canon's original full-frame mirrorless camera, the EOS R. Give it a watch to see how far Canon's mirrorless line has come.
The a7R V is the fifth iteration of Sony's high-end, high-res full-frame mirrorless camera. The new 60MP Mark IV, gains advanced AF, focus stacking and a new rear screen arrangement. We think it excels at stills.
After weeks with a production Canon EOS R6 Mark II, Chris and Jordan get into more detail than they could in their initial review.
Topaz Labs' flagship app uses AI algorithms to make some complex image corrections really, really easy. But is there enough here to justify its rather steep price?
Ultra-wide to short telephoto?! The Sony FE 20-70mm F4 G has a very useful focal range, so we took it to the mountains to see how it performs.
