Since I have decided to stay with M, what I am wrestling with right now is whether to get an M200 for its compact size, or put that money towards a 2nd M6 II body. Both are still available, although no screaming deals on either.
Besides my M6 II body, I also have an M5 which I got for a super discount a year ago. I like it for its built-in EVF, but what I really don’t like is that it works differently from the M6 II. When I switch between bodies, I find the differences in operation and menus to be unsatisfactory. Thus I am more inclined to put my $$$ towards the 2nd M6 II body than the M200, but still see the appeal of each.
I already have more gear than time and ability, so maybe this whole thing is a moot point.
This is a tough call, given the price gap. I went for the M6II instead of the M200 since I already have a M50. The M200 would only add a little more portability, while the M6 brings many features I miss today (electronic shutter, 3 dials, better DR and high ISO performance and ability to crop more aggressively). And If I ever get into sports or birding I would now have a powerful tool coupled with EF zooms like the 100-400 by Canon or Sigma/Tamron.
I will now leave my RP at home on longer hikes / landscape photography trips and just bring the 2 Ms, the M6II with the 11-22 and the M50 with the 18-150, clipped to my belt and backpack. These 2 kits combined will likely weight about the same as my RP with the 24-105L and will give me an incredible focal length range (17.6 to 240mm).
