I just picked up a Macbook Pro 14 M1pro this morning.

I noticed the default colour profile for the display is very warm, much warmer than my calibrated desktop screens or old macbook pro.

I use a SpyderX pro to calibrate my screens but I don't suppose this can be used on Macbook screens?

I browsed and noticed a few different presets, including one called Photography that is a lot cooler.... is this what people use?

Anyway, any advice on getting an accurate display would be very much appreciated, thank you!

I don't know about SpyderX, but my Xrite works with MBPs, and I'd guess maybe they have some solution for your machine. I use a calibration I create myself, not the photo one Apple provides.

Thank you, I will give the spyder a go. I think I read somewhere that somehow these things didn't work well with the new macbook display type... but I am probably wrong.

I will give it a go and see what happens, I can always revert back anyway.
