Re: Tamron 90mm macro test shots

I really enjoy my sigma 180/3.5 macro, it's one of the reasons I still keep Pentax around. Internal focus, reasonably quick focus, sharp wide open and a focus limiter. It just lacks the full-time manual focus override. I tried the HSM version on my EOS canon, it was nowhere near as good, slow af, wasn't sharp until F8 and had coloured fringing, I returned it for a refund. I don't know if I was lucky on the Pentax version or unlucky with the HSM version or it is just how they are. In my experience the Pentax version is well worth trying if you are into insect macros.

A drawback I forgot is that the af in live view is poor, very slow, on my KP. Which is a shame because if it was better then I wouldn't have to lie on the ground as much. I could use the KP's flip out screen more often.
