Cool. BE or BD?

Sorry, didn’t mean to be coy - it’s the Nikon CFI BE Plan 4X.

BE or BD plan?

I must say, the price/performance ratio is hard to beat. I will be doing more tests, but right now, I’m very satisfied based on this initial use.

Current Nikon objectives are pretty stunning. Heck, even a series or two before what you have are dang fine.

btw, my rig is:

‘Nikon D500, Nikon PB6 bellows, Wemacro rail slider, Raynox DCR150, Nikon CFI Plan 10X/BE 4X, styrofoam diffuser, Nikon R1C1 flash kit w/flashes mounted on articulating arms. Specimen stage is a kludge of manual sliders and the Proxxon micro milling table.

Did I say I prefer Nikon😁

Me too. They make some nice stuff.

I have about 20 assorted Nikon objectives, mostly CF (finite, 210mm tube) BD, ELWD, and DIC ranging from 2.5x to 160x. Also some CFI, and one CFI60 that is literally my only biological objective. I believe with the CFI Nikon started calling "strain free" objectives POL instead of DIC. Also two Optiphot 88 scopes, one of which is set up for DIC.

And a couple of PB4 bellows. I had a PB6, but I prefer the PB4. I may get another PB6, because it's easier to automate than the PB4. That's for the CF objectives, also some Leitz Photar and Zeiss Luminar macro lenses, and the 28mm f/1.8 Ultra Micro Nikkor (yes, that's a real lens, lol).

The term "mirrorless" is totally obsolete. It's time we call out EVIL for what it is. (Or, if you can't handle "Electronic Viewfinder Interchangeable Lens" then Frenchify it and call it "LIVE" for "Lens Interchangeable, Viewfinder Electronic" or "Viseur électronique").
