I agree. I have no interest in using a phone for photography becaue there is no eye-level viewfinder and because there are no direct controls, I know I'm not alone. I don't think it would take much R&D to put a basic electronic viewfinder in a G16. I'd much rather buy something like that for a sensible price than an overpriced mirrorless camera with a slow kit kens with limited zoom and poor close up performance.
