What would be a good setting for focus stacking individual flowers— f stop, how many frames, what width? I’m finding that I run out of depth before I get to the back of the subject, leaving the back out of focus. I can do it manually, but would prefer the automatic option.

Johns reply gave you a formulaic method.

I think fuji allows you to set front and back focus points and it does it for you (I'm not a fuji user but that was implied on a thread for the new xt5).

I prefer a touch of trial and error, ie try something and then adjust based on the results

So depending on how OOF you want the background I'd start with f3.2-f4. Keep step size small (eg 2-4), and start with 20 shots and depending on where the last frame ended increase as needed. My other post today used 90 steps and it could have done with 10 more, if the shots go beyond where you need you can delete the unwanted frames

Experiments are fun too
