Another useless poll.

Just read all the other topics about the same subject.....

This poll is not completely useless. When 41.1% (at the time of this post) express displeasure with Canon's ban on 3rd party AF lenses in a Canon forum it should be a cause for concern with Canon. Then consider that 14.3% has left, or is actively planning to leave, Canon as a user should be setting off alarms at Canon. This percentage is likely enthusiasts, and possibly some professionals, which are two groups that spend A LOT of money on Canon's imaging products. The 41.1% and 14.3% numbers will only increase as more time passes which should terrify Canon. IMO, the only way to maintain this decision and keep it from being a disaster for Canon is for them to immediately start bringing a large number of entry to mid level RF and RF-S lenses to market. If they don't their user base will start to stagnate or shrink if the RF lens catalog is woefully lacking in budget and mid level lens options over the next several years. They won't make enough profits from jacking up lens prices to overcome the damage to their user base if the negative percentages in this poll is even remotely accurate.

If anyone thinks Canon's 3rd party lens decision isn't a big deal the latest video posted on DPR has negative comments regarding Canon's decision. There are many sites and reviewers that have been critical of Canon and will continue to be critical in the future. The longer Canon lets this decision stand the more damage the negative press will do to them.
