actually I believe 2nd renaissance of the small digital camera is just around the corner.
I hope you are right, as I can not see me spending several thousand of "bucks" for photo gear again.
FF might be nice, but I don't need it as it is too expensive, too bulky and far more "inconvenient" to use.
Right now I will keep what I own, but I am truely in the market for a Sony RX 10V, if this is ever going to happen and bringing decisive advantages over the IV.
I wish I had bought one right when it hit the market, instead of going forward with EOS-M at the time...
Buying a camera for $500 and using it for a decade vs iPhone every 3 years for $2000, that is kind of the new reality.
It would actually work out cheaper in the long run to get RF 15-35, 24-70 and 70-200 and use a Nokia with buttons than to have the newest iPhone every 2 years.
Uuh, I don't have IPhone or similar HQ smartphone.
My medium level phone IQ is not good for larger prints, just OK for small social media sharing.
I generally see photography in the (near) future less and less of a wide spread "hobby" as it used to be during the past 4 decades.
Output and needs for images have shifted dramatically for the average Joe & Jane Does.
The ethusiast group here on this platform will "naturally die out" over the years to come.
Hence the market for photographic gear will shrink and specialize to expensive pro and (limited) life style editions of cameras, not my cup of coffee...
