The only use I have for the App is time and location synch between the camera and iPhone. It’s a nice feature but not having it would not be a factor in buying a camera or not. That only requires Bluetooth. Recent Fuji cameras have low power Bluetooth support which makes the communications more reliable. The other feature of the app is the ability to track F/W and make F/W updates. But again I could live without it.

The Leica Fotos app is much better than Fuji’s all around. I’ve even taken a few shot with my Leica on the tripod using the remote on my phone. But for the price difference, I expect the Leica would work well. I would much rather Fuji spend their R&D on improving the HW

If me not wrong, Fujifilm's sensor and processor should direct purchase from 3rd part vendor (e.g. Sony), not require any R&D cost.

Major R&D cost should be camera body (button/dial) ergonomics & camera firmware.

It should similar to R&D of Android smartphone maker (who release various smartphone body & customize the OS).

and camera performance.

As long as use latest sensor & faster processor, performance will be good.
