Re: Is the fujifilm iOS app really that terrible?

The app worked fine for me until iOS 16 and now it's very finicky. Hoping something gets updated soon to smooth this out.

Someone above already noted this but what used to work for me, every time, was this method:

1) Start "wireless communications" on phone. On my X100V the easiest way to do this is start pic playback by hitting "Play", then hit the top function button (the one just to the right of the shutter release). This starts the phone wifi without having to go into the menus.

2) On the iDevice, go into settings and connect to the Fuji wifi network being created by the phone.

3) On the iDevice, open the Fuji app and click "import images selected on app" to look at the photos on the camera.

This used to work flawlessly for me, even without any "pairing" registration, and with Bluetooth off. It was simple and reliable.

But as I said, for me anyway, as of iOS 16 last month, the iDevice now tries to connect to the camera wifi for 30 seconds or so, and then, 90% of the time, says it can't connect. It's so unreliable I won't bother with it for now and will hope either Fuji or Apple have an update soon.

I have an Apple SD to USB C reader which I can use instead. Overpriced, but works flawlessly (which of course is why Apple can charge so much).
