I've been pondering adding Helicon or Zerene but so far I've been happy with the stacking in Affinity Photo. Although I now have v2.0 I have yet to do any stacks there.

I did get a 30mm macro for my MFT gx85 and gx9 which both do in-camera stacking and after only a couple of sessions I like the stacks I get from my APS-C and AP better.

Now I'm wondering if I should get a FF macro lens and stack 42MP images. That raises the whole question of how to compromise. The Laowa 2x 90mm for Sony E-mount looks optically impressive and at half the cost of the Sony lens is attractive from a cost stand point. The Sony 90mm offers its own set of attractions.

Hi,

I’ve not tried ap, let me know how the new version works out

I’m getting itchy for more too, must be the dark nights and time to browse

I hear that apsc is the better comprise for macro. Eg Check allan wells on youtube. I’m sure someone has the other view…

Afaik only the new Sony does stacking, whereas the new Fuji xt5 with the Laowa 65mm seems very tempting with high mp and 2:1
