Amen to all of that. The first point especially. Some days I am comfortable to aim right at people with the camera to my eye. Other days I’m only comfortable to go completely unnoticed. And the key is that it’s more about how I feel at the time, than about who or what is around me. If it means that a silent shutter is no more than a placebo then fine, that works for me, it still means I’d get shots that I wouldn’t without it.
