IMO the X-Pro2/3 rear thumb-rest is the best design Fuji uses on any of their cameras;

Agreed, but it’s not that but that needs cleaning up, it’s the edging round the panels and the fact that the bottom edge isn’t the same across the bottom of the folding screen and the right side of the body. Much as I never use the screen and like the fact the the X-Pro3 hides it away, the X100V and X-E4 make the X-Pro3 look like a mess.

I agree that they should make the thumb-rest line match the top plate better; it's less noticeable on the all black version. Personally I think that while both the X100V and XE4 have very clean machined looks, the XE4 is dull and boring by comparison.

I'm planning on getting the XP4, but if Fuji gets rid of the excellent thumb-rest I am going to be very disappointed.

PS. They better use the X100V ISO dial instead of the X-Pro3 one.

Remind me of the difference…? I thought they were the same, but I only had the X-Pro3 as a rental for a few days.

The X100V's ISO dial stays up until you press it down; you can even leave it up if you want to making a lot of ISO changes while shooting. ISO changes on the XP2, X-Pro3, and X100F are almost as cumbersome as they were on the X-T1 which required you to hold the lock button down while turning its dial.
