Interestingly, the X-Pro4 with the 40MP X-Trans V HR sensor is by far the most anticipated camera and has almost two and a half times the votes of the X-Pro4 with the 26MP X-Trans V HS stacked sensor.

I think it is probably a cost thing for most people too. $500 for the stacked sensor in a camera that doesn't need it really... UNLESS they got rid of the shutter mechanism and went that route. If they did not go that route, I certainly want the 40mp sensor more too. I do not think they will get rid of it yet, though it clearly seems to be the future.

Yes, if they keep the mechanical shutter then the 40MP sensor would definitely make sense. Let's hope they also add IBIS without making it too big.

Why're folks in such a hurry to get rid of the mechanical shutter? I only resort to ES when necessary, and tend to default to MS+ES.

Part of the reason i struggle moving back to Fujifilm is the shutter. For candid closeup street photography, a leaf shutter or e-shutter is a huge boon.

People notice you photographing them up close believe me. It does not matter which shutter you use.

Oh I know. I've been attacked more than once where I live. It may be by sheer coincidence but that has not happened a single time ever since I started shooting with the GR IIIx the way I do now, even though now I shoot people at less than 1m distance, while beforehand I would be way further out.

It could be a combination of many things, but I am just putting myself in the subject's shoes. If someone walks up to me with a camera, without putting it up specifically for me, and keeps walking while keeping it up, I may think they are shooting video or something - a tourist. If I see someone with any camera, not matter how small, coming so close to me and then I hear a shutter mechanism - which you definitely hear somewhere with no cars and at <1m distance - I may be upset.
