I’d say the main questions are (a) do you want an EVF, an OVF or just an LCD, and (b) what’s your budget?

Assuming you’re on a moderately small budget I’d start looking at the X-E2 (or even XE-1) plus 27mm mk1 (or 18mm f/2) if you want an EVF, or an X100S if you want an OVF. But by the sounds of it even they might be a bit over—a little more than an XF10 anyway.

If you’re looking at the X10 then personally I’d pay a little extra for the X20 (which is one of the most “special” digital cameras ever made if you ask me)—I tend to find images from the EXR sensors a bit soft, whereas the X-Trans is crisper. (I have the XF1 and the XQ1, and the same applies there: the XF1 is nicer to use as it’s not ridiculously small, but the XQ1 produces much nicer images.)
