Two bodies with 15-35m and 70-200mm 2.8 lenses and you're golden. The gap between 36-69mm is irrelevant for this kind of work, plus you can stuff a 50mm prime in your bag if the gap matters, or you need a brighter lens occasionally.

Yes a 15-35mm would be sweet. However in addition to that typical 15-35mm + 70-200mm choice, for some folks 14-24mm + 35-150mm choice will be equally or probably even more interesting. It will be great if the Tamron 35-150mm f/2-2.8 is brought to the Nikon Z mount. Either as rebadged Nikon or as a third party Tamron. This may even fit some wedding / event photographers even better.

Thats another way to skin the cat for sure, but either way Nikon either doesn't understand or care about the market and what working photographers need, unless Z9 and long exotics.

Nikon should eventually cover different all these ends for the zooms (15-35mm f/2.8, 70-200mm f/4, 35-150mm / 50-150mm, etc., 70-300mm variable aperture). Logical zoom sets are very important.

I said should - it is not necessarily what Nikon will do.
