Dave, I truly commend your ambition! I too (categorically) disagree with just about all of Marco Nero's (un)reasonings here, but I just didn't know where the heck to start!!
Thanks for taking it on, and saving me lots of typing!

Strange times for M owners I guess.
I am thinking maybe in this new world Canon just can not do it any longer and I should be thankful for what they did do with the M.
And thankful they sold me a M6II for $549. They are out of stock now.
No Sigma for the R7 has me bummed though.
The M6ii silver refurb is back in stock for $549

The NEW EF-M 22mm f2 is now on sale for $179.99

Great time to get into M at bargain basement prices! MIrrorless 32 MP may never be this cheap again!
As for me, the M system meets all my photographic needs now and for at least several years into the future. I've got 2 M6ii's and 2 M200's which should keep all my EF-M lenses going for a long time. I have a collection of all 8 Canon M lenses, the Siggy 16 & 56 1.4's, the Rokinon 8mm f2.8, 12mm f2, & (EF-mount) 135mm f2, and lately, the amazing Laowa 9mm f2.8 rectilinear super-wide, which is small like the EF-M 22mm f2 so finds its way into my bag now often over the 11-22 and Roki 12. And the trusty and fairly light EF-S 55-250 IS STM plus 1.5x and 2x teleconverters for reach, and a Meade ETX-125 telescope for serious reach!
Incidentally the Rokinon 135mm paired with the VIltrox EF - EOS M2 0.71x speed booster is a killer combo that surprisingly gives sharp images across the frame at the resulting 100mm f1.4!!
The silver M6ii refurb is awfully tempting though at its current fire-sale price. One of my M6ii's has seen two years of quite heavy use and over 100k frames (majority e-shutter). If one M6ii died I would immediately replace it... perhaps I should sell the black M200.... I'd keep the white one since I use it a lot after converting it to full-spectrum for both astro and IR use.
