Using an extension tube with an 18-55 zoom lens will easily fill the frame with the image size, but you'll need to experiment to find the necessary working distance if you're using some holder attached to the lens.

You could do the same thing with a micro 4/3, but it has a 4:3 aspect ratio.

It's easier with a macro lens, since it's the same every time. Once you find the right point with the zoom lens, you'll have to try to repeat it. With a kit lens, I try to use tubes only at the long end and just leave it there to be more consistent.
