So, clearly Fujifilm needs to address some hardware issues with this camera and improve it to make it more robust and reliable, after all, they are marketing it as their premium luxury camera. I expect nothing less then refined perfection in this camera!
This would be Fujifilms equivalent to the Leica MP, in my opinion.
Where has Fuji ever said (much less marketed) it is their luxury premium camera?
and you expect it to be like a $6000 film camera in build quality?
Fujifilm had a presentation in one of their X-Summit’s defining each of the different models. I can’t find it anymore but in it they labelled the Xpro series as their luxury line.
I don’t expect the Xpro to be on par with a Leica MP but I do expect to be a level of fit and finish that is above the other models if they are going to charge a premium and market it as a luxury item.
Here you go: Fujifilm Explains Camera Line Distinction
I think it's only marketing and nothing more. If it is correct, the X-T line should be mid-level, the X-H line flagship. But in Switzerland, the X-T5 is only $100 cheaper than the X-H2 ($1800 vs $1900).
Thank you for that Nebeldiener
I think the price point margins are pretty competitive compared to the price point margins of other manufacturers like the big 3. I think that’s a great thing, I definitely would not want to see the price of the X-H line balloon up in future models.
But the features and functionality are not. It is interesting that the price differential in different countries is as large as it seems to be.
It is pretty clear based on the features that the XH is the flagship line. It is clear that the XT4 was introduced as a stopgap for the fact the XH development took longer than planned. The fact that some features were "thrown off the boat" from the XT4 to XT5 generations, e.g., optional battery grip, pretty much is in line with the link above. As far as "Luxury" - sometimes meaning doesn't fully carry over from translation from one language to another.
At least the way I view it is it is a model that some are willing to pay top dollar (most expensive Fuji until the release of this current generation) for style and a unique feature - i.e., the OVF. If one does not use the OVF, then one is paying a lot of money for a camera with fewer features and an inferior EVF than the XT.
