You can download a two-layer TIFF file (similar to a PSD), where you have a ruler with 30 "units", 20 sub-units each, stretched over a 14,000 pixel wide format. For very large enlargements, 10x for example, manual changes can be made to the thickness of the marks, plus other modifications.
It can be printed at a small size, 1:10 (10 units = 1 cm, 30 units = 3 cm), to be photographed for reference sizes at different magnification ratios.
