Atomos Ninja V H.265 vs. Internal Recording on Sony A7R III & A7R V

Hello,

I'm new to video and trying to climb this steep learning curve.

I'm able to borrow a Atomos Ninja V and what I like is being able to record in ProRes and not having the 30 min limit on my Sony A7R III.

The Atomos firmware update now allows recording in H.265 and wondering if anyone knows how the quality might compare to ProRes and the 4K recording in camera.

Because of space limitations, I'm recording to the Atomos in ProRes LT, which I was told would still be better than in camera and not too different from HQ. I may sometimes want to further stretch my record time w/ H.265, but not if the quality is significantly reduced from LT or in camera.

I will probably upgrade at some point to the A7R V, so I have the same question regarding how H.265 would compare to the internal recording on that camera.

Thanks!

R
