that’s the question

yes, generally it is.

It is, it may not seem like a lot of weight, but it all depends on factors.  I am a disabled veteran with a bad back but like to travel and carry 2 cameras on my when I do.  The small difference in weight can mean a lot to me over a 8+ hr day of walking around a city taking pictures.  I used to use 2x Olympus systems because they were much smaller and lighter and have good weather sealing (comes in handy when hiking in snow in the Rockies) but since the change from Olympus to OM Systems I have been hesitant to continue to use the M4/3 system (I have tried Panasonic and I just don't like it) and the release of the OM Systems OM-5 kind of solidified my fears (not much innovation in the new camera, basically a re release of the OM-D E-M5 MkIII with an increased price tag, they didn't even upgrade the USB port to a USB C which would have been an easy and cheap upgrade)

Currently I have several full frame mirrorless cameras and the lower and mid tier glass is nice and light, but once you get into the premium glass the build quality goes up and so does the weight.  Wanting to keep weight down the plan is to use a full frame for something in the 18-150mm range then an APS-C or M4/3 system for further reach (right now I have a Panasonic 50-200mm f/2.8-4 on my OM-1 and the 24-105mm f/4 on my Canon R6 so I have from 24-400mm covered off 2 cameras without having to change lenses).  Quality long focal length lenses on full frame is were significant weight differences come in which is why I want to keep the longer focal length lens on an APS-C or M4/3 system.  Personally I am just trying to find the best setup for me, want the best image quality I can get at the lightest weight possible while covering a significant range in focal length.
