I thought the best pics possible can only come from the 71-120mm range.
Specifically 90-92mm according to peer reviewed studies using a randomised double blind methodology (1).
(1) The studies are performed by two randomly chosen blind people to ensure that they are not biased by the lens brand or the scenery.
I assumed double blind meant they were blindfolded when they took the sample images and then blindfolded again when they judged them.
I’ve got way to many 24-70 variants and they all have a place. The 24-70 f4 helped put the Z system on the map and is probably in the top two or three best ‘kit’ lenses of all time. I’ve occasionally considered selling mine but then sober up and look at the images it has produced when used appropriately and think better of it.
The 24-70 f4 was actually one of the big reasons why I picked up my Z6II in the end last month.
The 24-70 f4 and the 50 1.8S together make for a very affordable and portable two lens kit with excellent optics.

The OM System M.Zuiko Digital ED 90mm F3.5 Macro IS PRO is finally here! Chris has opinions.
The Canon EOS R8 is the company's latest mid-level full-frame mirrorless camera. It brings the sensor and autofocus from the EOS R6 II and combines them in a smaller, more affordable body.
The Canon EOS R50 is an entry-level, company APS-C mirrorless camera. A 24MP RF-mount camera aiming to attract smartphone users and, perhaps, vloggers.
See what Chris and Jordan think of the Canon EOS R8 after shooting in Charleston, South Carolina.
The Canon EOS R50 is inexpensive. It's tiny. Is it good? Jordan and Chris dodged alligators in South Carolina to find out.
