No, all the same development settings are applied to the DNGs automatically upon their creation.

In third you loose time and disk space .

You lose very little time (a couple of seconds per file). I don’t, but you can always delete the DNGs after exporting you final jpegs/tiffs/whatever.

So for me it's a pain, how much pain depends from the project

Using DxO/Enhance Details is also a pain. It’s a cross we must bear for optimal results in Lightroom/ACR. To date, IXT has been the best solution for me.
