Re: Problem with battery info (LP-E6N in R6)

Lithium batteries will degrade over 3-5 years, so you got good life from your pack. I carried over my 2016 year LP-E6N from for 5D when I switched to my R6, and while it's a lower capacity to the new LP--E6NH supplied with the R6, I kept it as a backup. I noticed its performance was beginning to drop off quickly, and it was down to 1 out of 3 squares in the recharge performance. Rather than tossing it away, I rebuilt it with 2 new 18500 3.7V 1600mAh and after connecting the new batteries to the circuit board in the battery, the recharge performance reset to 3 greens, and the battery is as good as new! For interest, the reason that 3rd-party batteries don't work in Canon chargers is because they don't have the circuit board inside the battery. Stick to original batteries, and rebuild them if you have some electronics skills.
