Canon is probably clearing stock for the R replacements. The R100 shouldn't be too far away. Maybe a Jan announcement should give you a better idea of pricing.

If you want a deal on outgoing cameras, wait until December.

M's not selling well, so probably time to officially pull the plug.

The fact that the #1 "Mirrorless" camera is a baby monitor should give you a clue that the Amazon rankings are utterly worthless.

That baby monitor is just miscategorized. Something anyone selling on Amazon can do.

Lots of things are incorrectly categorized in the Amazon rankings. As MyM6II pointed out, there are multiple M50 II's in the DSLR category.  Things that are not mirrorless cameras being ranked in the mirrorless camera category is a regular occurrence.

ABS is one data point. Amazon has 40% of eCommerce business is hardly something to ignore. When you look at numbers it is all relative. How does one product compare to another.

You can look at the Amazon rankings all you want, but using them as a measurement of camera system popularity is completely ridiculous. Besides the issues with items in the wrong category, there are a lot of other problems with the rankings. Amazon does not disclose the metrics used in determining the rankings. The Amazon rankings are geographically localized. The rankings are updated hourly and provide no indication of monthly or yearly overall sales data. Given the very short term nature of the rankings, sales and discounts significantly skew the results.

To highlight some of these issues I just took a snapshot of the current rankings on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, and Amazon.de.  Not only does has the USA ranking changed from what you posted just 17 hours ago, but the UK and Germany rankings look dramatically different.  All three rankings have items that are in the wrong category.

Amazon "Mirrorless Camera" rankings.  USA top, UK middle, Germany bottom

Basically, the sole purpose of the Amazon rankings is to help Amazon sell more stuff and in no way are they any indication of camera system market share.
