Yes. Daylight is around 5200 and Cloudy about 6000.

Memorizing the WB kelvin properties is somethings I need to do...

You can adjust your WB on the fly beforehand by putting your camera in Live View, hitting your Q button, setting your WB in increments, and seeing the effects before you take your shot; but that almost requires a tripod.

Holding a camera at arms length for that long would be pretty tiring, I think.

I can also do that on my 7D (impossible on the 1200D or 600D), but as you say, it's not really suitable for shooting handheld.

I'm going to do a little testing with remote shooting while I sit in a lawn chair with my tablet or phone.
