I didn't really start macro work until I decided that I'd try tinkering with watch repair. I have an old Sony a65 with their 50mm and 100mm macro lenses.

I focus stack with Affinity photo.

I just purchased a book to (hopefully) help me some with my macro technique. I was "chatting" with one-of-one and he noted that he uses focus bracketing in camera. My Sony's don't but my Lumix GX9 does so I just ordered a used 30mm Panasonic macro lens to see if by bumping the number of shots I use to focus stack I'll get better results.

Here's an example of a recent shot.
