If you own the D7500 no point listening to other people complain. Turn it on and see for yourself.

The Z50 the things to look at

Is the video oversampled?

Is it line skipped ?

Is it cropped?

4K video is roughly 8MP on a 16x9 sensor. Adjusting that up to 3x2 I think you need roughly 11? Something fairly low.

Almost nobody sells a camera with resolution that low anymore. That means the camera companies have to make a choice.

The highest quality is to oversample. That means taking all of the data and using it to create the 4K .

The other two have different trade offs but in both cases will be worse than oversampled.
