Yeah, it is too bad about the aperture ring. I guess I'm used to dedicating a wheel for it, but I prefer a ring with a mechanical link/elctronic hyprid design.

As far as handling, it is big but not too big, weighty but not heavy, definitely not compact. I got used to the focus ring position pretty fast. The only other zoom I looked at was  the kit lens which seemed a bit soft, which is too bad because you can get it for a decent price with the camera.

For me, the images really pop and the IS *so far* seems pretty seamless. It isn't like my m4/3 35-100mm, I wish there was a lens just like that for X. The pluses outweigh the minuses.

I think Richard Wong's review nailed it--what I saw in the review is basically what came in the box.

I wasn't expecting much from the stills since I got the cam for 8K video, but, actually, they look great. No fast pans for me.
