Welcome to the exciting world of "objective collecting". You've just run into one of the most common problems in the world: things "not quite" fitting together.

The TL;DR if you don't want to read one of my long posts is...

Thank you for a very informative post . I've bookmarked it , very helpful .

You're welcome. Glad to have helped.

I've used microscope objectives before off an old microscope I have ( probably 1950's or 60's ) and have an adapter to either mount the camera on the microscope for using with the eyepiece in place , and an adapter to mount the RMS mount to my bellows or direct to a "T" mount on the camera .

Good ways to start.

I also have some Minolta and Olympus bellows lenses of the RMS mount type .

Great lenses for a bellows, although not the best performers by today's standards. Even my venerable Leits Photars and Zeiss Luminars are getting a bit long in the tooth. I think our old lenses are worth more as collectibles these days...

I'm looking at getting one or two more objectives of a better quality hence having a look on this forum to get a bit more information .

I was forgetting that RMS isn't necessarily the "standard" mount anymore .

The world has become a much more complex place.

Your post has given me more to make a more informed decision on as well .

Glad to have helped.

And be sure to check out photomacrography.net. They have massive amounts of information on this stuff.

Cheers .

And you you, mate.

(did I do that right?)

The term "mirrorless" is totally obsolete. It's time we call out EVIL for what it is. (Or, if you can't handle "Electronic Viewfinder Interchangeable Lens" then Frenchify it and call it "LIVE" for "Lens Interchangeable, Viewfinder Electronic" or "Viseur électronique").
