Lenses for the R7
1

I ended up with an R7 and am enjoying it with its kit lens more than I anticipated. The lightweight combo means I'll take it whereas I'd not take the much heavier DSLR/EF combo.

However, I'll surely, someday, develop a case of GAS. I'm now wondering about the future purchasing of lenses. I'm sure that others besides myself are unhappy with Canon's refusal to license its tech so we can get RF lenses from third parties such as Sigma.

Since I do have an EF adapter and some EF lenses, I tried the combo on the R7 finding, they worked well or so it seemed to me. Am I missing something?

Why not use any EF lens we wish on the R series using these adapters if Canon won't license the tech? It seems, in a backdoor manner, that Canon has licensed it when it did so with the EF mount. I get the EF lenses will be heavier but they'll work.

I'm also curious if people with the R7 or R10 are buying RF or RF-S lenses when they are all right carrying the OEM price freight. I never considered it a burden to calculate the effective focal length of an EF lens on an APC body so I'm wondering what an RF-S gets me.

If I post one of my images, C&C both positive and negative is welcome.
