Here's a shot I took today with the home-made 'Rexlar' 1.43x EOS M teleconverter I made, described in that thread.

Shot with the M200, EF-M 55-200 IS STM at 200mm: final focal length 286mm at f13, 1/400s at ISO 400. Image was cropped to 75% of original width, then downsized to 4k monitor resolution. A usable result, I think.

The rear of the train was more than a half mile away and quite distorted due to the 'heat shimmering' that hurt resolution in the more distant parts of the image.

Heritage 40-year anniversary Amtrak engine #130 at Tampa Union Station. Canon M200, Canon EF-M 55-200 IS STM lens, 'Rexlar' DIY 1.43x teleconverter, 286mm, f13, 1/400s, ISO 400, DxO PL5 cropped to 75% of frame width and downsampled to 2160 pixels high

Firstly I have to say it's an honour for "the" (the "the" here is pronounced as "d" as in D-Day) Larry Rexley to comment here.

I have to admit, I would one day love to try this method. Just waiting for someone to sell off his/her teleconverter on the low.

For the time being I have two tele conversion lenses (that go at the end of the lens) that I've been meaning to post up soon. I find it amazing that you can get these cheap nowadays (if you can find them that is), it's as if nobody wants them.
