Is this could be a good replacement for a UWA lens?

any software can make it looks perfectly straight?

You probably could, but I doubt that you should. I personally would not recommend it.

If you want UWA get, depending on budget the Canon 11-22 or 10-18 (with adapter).

Fisheye lenses are great fun, but for me I see them for the special effect.

Sometimes you just want that extra wide that no rectilinear lens can produce, and then rectilinearizing a fisheye image can be the only option if you do not want to go into stiching.

A diagonal fisheye will of cause be better for the job as it uses the full width of the imager.

Below a couple of examples, remapped using RectFish, from a couple of recent trips

Rgds/Kjeld

St. Stephen's Basilica/Budapest

Rectilinearized @ 130° hAOV : Canon EOS M + Samyang 7.5mm fisheye

Massimo Theater / Palermo

Rectfished @ 180° hAOV: Canon EOS M + Samyang 7.5mm fisheye
