Re: Photographing low to the ground

Just to clarify, I wasn't posting here seeking a solution for my own needs, but to assist the couple of others who expressed an interest in shooting fungi. As someone who's spent thousands of hours on this particular theme, I figured sharing my method might offer some guidance.

When mentioning that the upside down camera is a bit of a hassle, this was for their information. I'm sure a lot of people would baulk at the idea of trying to learn their camera in this way. Im perfectly fine carrying on as I have been for two years, as it does the job fine, albeit with a bit if frustration.

The L-Bracket would certainly be a considerable operational improvement on the existing method I use, and would make metering much easier, but I can't see myself going as far as getting custom-shopped gear. I also exist in very poor financial and health circumstances, so an L-Bracket and compatible ball head won't be a "soon" purchase anyway.

It's definately on the wish list though. The next fungi season doesn't start for another six months (Southern hemisphere winter) so maybe I can work something out before then. If not, I'll keep doing what I'm already doing.
