Nice one ! Interesting to see someone's done this, as I had sketched out a diagram for a very similar approach. With my plans, it would have been two pieces of plywood connected by a stiff hinge, in order to change the pitch of the camera by moving the top pieces as required

I didn't proceed with building it after considering that for my fungi shoots, the ground is rarely flat. And that's where I feel the inverted tripod method is the gold standard for what I'm trying to achieve.
