Today is the two year anniversary of Canon's announcement of the M50 Mark II, which was just a minor update of the 2018 version.
I don't expect it to happen, but it would be nice if Canon "shocked the world" by releasing a new M model.
The M50 Mark II was itself indeed a shock to me.
Would love to see an M6 Mark III "Firmware Update."
My sarcasm detector is not giving a clear reading, but Canon integrating the past 3 years of improvements and releasing that would be a good thing. Depending on how much I'd get for trading in my 'old' M6II, it might be worth it.
I'd still rather see a real update to the M line, like an Mx00 with eye-AF in servo mode and a digic X powered M6III, but I'll take what I can get
Having said that, if the R100 rumours are correct, that would be even more tempting to replace my M6II.
I'd settle for a nice low mileage M6ii at a reasonable price. There doesn't seem to be any stampede to sell them or EF-M lenses on ebay by RF-S series upgraders. Maybe people are waiting to see what the next crop (sorry) of lens releases looks like. We know there won't be any Sigma or Viltrox offerings...
The majority of the people buying RF-S are likely coming from crop DSLRs and not from the M system. The M6 II was never anywhere near as popular as the M50/M50 II, so it is not surprising that there is not a flood of used copies on the market.
