Testing New GoPro Hero Black 11 For Overheating . . . Is This an Issue here?

I just received the GoPro 11. As a test, I thought I would check it out for overheating. I set the cam to 4K at 60fps, and ran it continuously. At 18min 46sec it shut down due to overheating. I'm assuming this is normal for such a length of time. The camera was extremely hot to touch. Like I mentioned, I'm assuming at 18min + this is normal. Is it so? I would like to know so that I can prepare to have it replaced if there is an issue.

Perhaps if I choose to take long video clips, changing the resolution to 1080p might be an option.

Thank you.

Edit: I kept everything the same, except I placed the cam on a small tripod this time. As before, I just placed it on a table. On the tripod, the bottom now has airflow. It now recorded for just over 23min. Strange thing is, the cam didn't feel overly hot at all.

You’re born, you die, and in between you need antacid.
