Yeah, I've only had this camera for nearly two years now but either I never noticed before or the self-timer lamp has just started flashing ...and I'd like to disable that. I never use the self timer for self portraits, but I use it regularly for landscapes to reduce vibration. I don't recall it flashing before but maybe I've just been blind.
Is it possible to disable the lamp when using the self-timer? I've Googled & looked through the manual to no avail.
I guess a spot of gaffer's tape could be a last resort, since per the manual it's the "Red-eye removal / Self-timer lamp", neither of which is a factor if affected.
Thanks.
Len,
It's possible that you never noticed it before because you were taking landscape photos in the daylight.
The manual says that the lamp does not flash when the screen is facing is facing backward towards the shooter in taking self-portraits.
The manual doesn't say anything about disabling it like you can disable the beep.
