Will The R6II Produce Poor Photos?
Does the existing R6 produce bad photos? If the R6II comes indeed with the R3 24MP sensor, does the sensor from the R3 produce poor photos?
Being a 100% honest, I personally don't need massive amounts of resolution to be happy. Number one, my customers have never ever complained or required more than 16MP. They don't even know what they get and to be honest 99.9% of the time they mostly use their photos to post in instagram.
For quite a long time I have been wanting to upgrade my FF gear but it just hasn't happened and I don't think I will get a Nikon mirrorless and most likely I will sell it and go Canon or Sony. Heck lately I was even looking at Fujifilm medium format but that system is just not for my application. I do (really) like Canon's file compression algorithms and if in the end I decide for a R5 I would have no problem with it because I believe the compressed files are about the same size as my 16MP Fuji XT1 raw files, so I won't feel any pain.
But, I have played around with the Panasonic S1 files and man those images are freacking sharp with a 50mm 1.4 damn!!! oh yeah and is a 24MP sensor!
I think that for sharpness and detail the lens is also extremely important instead of asking for more and more resolution for no good reason. FYI I'm the type of dude that hardly ever crops and I don't print either.
Having said all that, what's wrong with 24MP and a sensor that would be from the R3? Isn't that sensor better than what's currently inside the R6 or is there zero difference? Doesn't the R3 sensor have any other better qualities?
