This sounds good, and I look forward to working with the G1X.
I shot with a Canon 80D and a couple of 60Ds in my photography business. I have a studio and shoot more sports and school photography, but I have been a wedding photographer for 30 years. I went fully digital in the business on 05 with Canon 20Ds, the 30Ds, and now to the 60 and 80D. But I go on motorcycle camping trips and some backpacking, and I want a good quality camera that is not too large and heavy. The G12 has fit the bill for several years.
I purchased a Panasonic FZ2500 that I thought would take its place, but I have found that it is a little too big for those uses, that it is a battery hog, and with that 1-inch sensor, it doesn't have the IQ of the 80D. I plan on selling it and getting a 150-600 zoom for the DSLRs.
I went digital for weddings with a D60 in 2002 and then worked my way through the 1DS series starting with the original in 2003 - when they stopped making them, I moved to Nikon with the D800E .. I used Digital before 2002 for product photography with a coolpix 950 and an Oly E10 but the Canon D60 really was a game changer for me (the D30 didn`t have enough resolution to plunk down over 2 grand so waited for the 60)
